Operation OVERLORD took place on June 6th, 1944. The Battle Of Normandy was an attempt to gain a foothold in Western Europe in that supplies could freely cross the Allied controlled English Channel and thus facilitate a thrust in to Germany. The seaborne invasion is the largest in history, but did come at a heavy price.

This November 2007 event was to simulate the day after the initial landings and the Allied attempt to get off the sandy beaches and press further inland. The Germans were to hold a crossroads and a fortified bunker which the Allies needed to control. The Germans, equipped with effective armor and cordinated infantry attacks and withdrawals, gave strong resistance to the American and British forces.
