November | Normandy, The Drive To Saint Lô : 7th-9thSaint Lô was one of three towns the Allies had planned on capturing on the first day of the Normandy landings. But, these objectives were not met and the town was not liberated until July 18th, and not before Allied bombings nearly leveled it and earning the name The Capital of Ruins. This Fall's Camp Roberts battle is set in the days leading up to the capture of the town and the hard combat that was fought around it. The event boasts a huge turnout of Armored Fighting Vehicles and should be one of the most memorable battles in a long time. Please be advised that the barracks are not available to us that weekend and we will be camping in the field. There will be period and non-period campsites. Please refer to the CHG website for further details. |
