What's New in the 2?

Last March, 2nd Armored landed in North Africa to fight the Axis forces there. Temperatures peaked as the Germans and Italians desperately held on to their captured ground. Both sides found the wide open terrain difficult to mount an assault and found good stronghold in the hills and valleys in the hills to the east. Pictures of this event will be posted soon.

Another successful air show at the Planes Of Fame Chino Air Show this past May. Hundreds of people came out to see the old and new warbirds on display and in flight and were once again impressed by the representation of California Historical Group reenactors "half-time" show. 2nd Armored tanks and infantry teamed up with other Allied units to fight of a strong German infantry and armored offense.

2nd Armored members were cast as extras for a National Geographic Channel Documentary, "Mystery Shipwrecks." Our GIs along with several other members from other CHG units portrayed WWII soldiers on transit across the Atlantic aboard the Queen Mary. A few of our members were even chosen to play important character roles and some were asked to deliver lines. Great job by all, despite the heat, as we definitely gave gave their show realism.
