Great Los Angeles Air Raid, San Pedro CA

2nd Armored had been tapped to bring out the Sherman Tank to this out-door swing dance event. The dance was held at Fort MacArthur in San Pedro and the museum had gone full bore to set the ambiance of war-time Los Angeles. On roughly this day in 1942, a nervous Los Angeles had her skies lit up with Anti-Aircraft Artillery when someone thought they saw Japanese aircraft approaching. However, no aircraft was seen nor any wreckage found. Further, no post-war Japanese records show any of their forces near the coast. A live swing band played 40s tunes while visitors dressed in period civilian and military outfits danced away on the dance floor placed at the fort's armory. On display was our very own Sherman tank, the museum's artillery pieces and trucks, as well vintage cars from the 30s and 40s.

Eastern Front Battle, Ozena Valley CA

The Russians continued their march on to the German border this same weekend. Our comrades in red fought valiantly against a beaten hun. As always, 2nd Armored is invited to fight with the 150th Rifles and the 70th Guards at Eastern Front events for a unique experience and to see a different side of the war.
