Model 1939 Shoes, Service, Composition Sole

The Russet Service Shoe was the polishable version of the Roughout Shoe, designed for garrison duty and to be worn with the Class A dress uniform. However, it was also worn in the field and in combat. It features a russet brown polishable leather with a toe cap.

We recommend that you buy a reproduction pair of boots. Original shoes are hard to come by and the leather may be stiff and the soles worn. The wear and usage you'd put them through may destroy them or your feet. Those on a budget can purchase the Russet Shoes and will be able to wear them both in the field and with the Class As or Bs. However, you can expect to scuff them after a couple of events and the damage may not polish out very well. They typically run the same price as a pair of roughouts.
